I would like to offer condolences to all of Alec´s loved ones. I was shocked to hear of his passing. Life is not fair. Alec was a kind and thoughtful person. He talked me through a lot after we lost Ben. He really had an positive impact on a lot of people and he will always be remembered
I would like to imagine him and Ben enjoying the afterlife together. Like the song goes: “if there´s a rock n roll Heaven, you know they got a hell of a band” Love you, Alec.

Alec was my daughters 4th and 5th grade teacher and she loved being his student. From everything she told me, he was alot of fun, but also a great teacher. He had a very positive influence on her during some very formative years.

I never told you, but that time you stayed at our place in WA, I came in at 11pm to close your laptop as you fell asleep to Star Trek… and the a few weeks later when my dad stayed over, I also had to close his laptop as he had also fallen asleep to Star Trek . I remember thinking that was just the sweetest thing. You also cracked me up the first time I heard you give Zia a pop quiz about seal ears. It was only then I understood just how much you´ve imparted to your daughter l, the woman I love so dearly. She´s you in so many ways. And I know that our daughter will find her way to your sense of style, your compassion, and love for science and music through the stories we´ll tell. I miss you, we all do.

Mr. Clark was my elementary school teacher, he was very passionate with his amazing teaching skills. This breaks my heart to see, may he rest in paradise and watch over your family.

Learning just how many lives my dad touched, how many hearts he poured into, and how deeply he cared is both a wonderful gift and makes me miss him that much more. He was the coolest dad – he taught me about rock and roll, about loving those you care for deeply and intensely, about how music can speak better than words, and about how much wonder there is in the natural world. I still haven´t fully processed that you´re gone. I don´t think I will for awhile. I love you so much dad, until we see each other again.

Alec, I am still in disbelief that you are gone. During your gathering on Saturday I expected you to waltz in late, as you’d always do, with your booming voice, laugh and presence. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to knowing you’ll never do that again. Love you forever.

When I first met you, you were a strong handsome young man with a big, deep voice and big curly hair. You knew what you wanted, you articulated you non-negotiable arguments, and you were independent and self sufficient. Charming, impressive, knowledgeable, confident, talented and sophisticated, creative and imaginative thinker and musician were added traits that built the Alec in my mind, already larger than life. Little did I know that I was totally impressed by the tip of the iceberg, and that there was so much more to you. And the iceberg was hot with passions, empathy, love and generosity. The many gifts you had and shared could fuel the lives of many as it enriched us. May you be loved and welcomed in future legs of your journey as you were always loved among us, the common folks.

Dearest Alec,
You will forever be the epitome of cool, and I will forever be honored to be your little sister.
Thank you for the gift of music and for sharing so much of yourself and what you knew of this wild world through it with me and with others. I will cherish the song you wrote me when I need it the most, and now it carries a part of you that I will never lose. For that, I’m grateful.
I will remember the joy, kindness, creativity, and love you gave so freely to others. Wherever you are, I hope your heart is resting easy now, carried on this crest of a wave of love from everyone whose life you touched.
I’ll miss you more than words can ever tell. May the four winds blow you safely home. I love you, Alec.
Your biggest fan, your lil-sis,
Alethea

May the four winds blow you onward, Alec. Your guidance to many young people in fields stretching from music to science is how I will remember you mostly, but, you know, anyone listening to what you had to say anytime we had something to learn from you. I will miss you, and I love you, brother.

I love you and I miss you so very much, wafflepants. This is an event horizon where the escape velocity exceeds the speed of light, as you well know… and it´s an unreal feeling, lovie. I´d really like to talk to you about it. Cathartes Aura came up today and I couldn´t even remember what you taught me about the related convergent evolution there. I´m a bit lost without you.

I´ve met alec about 3 times and every time I´ve talked to him he´s been nothing but nice and super energetic, the last time I met him he showed us a video he made with some of his students singing and playing instruments to the song “freaks” by surf curse,he had also showed me some music he was planning to record, it makes me want to cry just thinking about those 3 times we´ve interacted and wishing I could´ve visited way more. Thank you alec,I wish only the best for your family.

Wherever you are now, I hope you know you were my favorite teacher of all time. You were the main reason I even stayed in public school for as long as I did. You taught me so many important lessons and furthered my awkward teenage development a ton.
I have countless stories and memories kept in the most precious part of my brain that I will always look back on fondly. I learned what a truly caring heart and soul looks like from you and I looked up to you with strong admiration. You were a better father than my dad ever was and you made me feel much more seen as a weird troubled child.
I will never forget you and I wish I would’ve visited you or chatted with you one last time, however the positive impact you left on me is good enough in my opinion. Rest in peace Alec, I hope you can rock out and geek out to your heart’s content in a greater realm of conciousness.
